The Queen.

Tonight I saw Stephen Frears’ The Queen.

I was going to write a full review, but I think it will suffice to say: good movie, great lead performance. Helen Mirren will get an Oscar nomination, and she could quite possibly deserve the win.

If you have any interest in the extremely complex relationship between Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth II, or if you simply want to see an amazing story of one woman’s conflict between duty and personal feelings, love and hate, definitely see the film. The archive footage of Diana and the public response to her death will give you chills all over again.
