I got a call today that I don’t have to work tonight because one of the floors of Opaline is closed for renovation. So what am I doing instead? Going to another club? Watching television? No. I’m studying. I’m trying to place out of Elementary French for two reasons. One, it’s five days a week. And two, it’s eight credits that I don’t feel would be an effective usage of money; $1,301 times eight is $10,408. For Elementary French?! Please. If I can’t place out of the class, hopefully they will let me take no language the first year and I can hire a private tutor. If all else fails, I guess I will suck it up and get it done. You have to play by the Ivies’ rules sometimes. The sad thing is that I am enjoying learning French. It’s relaxing. Hopefully the ease I’m having with it so far is indicative of my future mastery. – Gwen and Gavin named their new baby boy Kingston. Kingston James McGregor Rossdale. King for short. I think that’s adorable. So old-school British and fancy. – I can’t believe the Playstation 3 is going to cost $600! SO glad I gave up videogames. filed under: misc | comments: Leave a commentLine and paragraph breaks automatic, e-mail address never displayed, HTML allowed:

The absolutely best way to speak a language is to spend a month or more in an immersive program - so go to France and live the language with a family - no English allowed - reasonably cheap too. Before going get a set of Rosetta CD’s off ebay and run through them at your own pace - definately the best of the CD’s - The private tutor route sounds expensive but everything is relative n’est pas?
