Pet camel kills Australian woman A woman in Australia has been killed by her pet camel after the animal may have tried to have sex with her. The woman was found dead at the family’s sheep and cattle ranch near the town of Mitchell in Queensland. The woman had been given the camel as a 60th birthday present earlier this year because of her love of exotic pets. The camel was just 10 months old but already weighed 152kg (336lbs) and had come close to suffocating the family’s pet goat on a number of occasions. On Saturday, the woman apparently became the object of the male camel’s desire. It knocked her to the ground, lay on top of her and displayed what the police delicately described as possible mating behaviour. “I’d say it’s probably been playing, or it may be even a sexual sort of thing,” the Associated Press news agency quoted Queensland police Detective Senior Constable Craig Gregory as saying. Young camels are not normally aggressive but can become more threatening if treated and raised as pets. filed under: misc | comments: 2 comments |
“Don’t you care about other stuff?” …And any ounce of respect I had for Bill Richardson is gone. – Richardson again apologized for saying last week he believes homosexuality is a lifestyle choice rather than a biological characteristic. The comment at a candidates’ forum on gay issues sparked outrage in the gay community. “I made a mistake. I screwed up,” he said, acknowledging that the gay blogosphere is upset with him. “[The blogs] went nuts saying, you know, that I literally was a moron and that I didn’t understand their struggle,” he said. Richardson, who supports civil unions, was asked if he would veto a gay marriage bill because he believed in his heart that same-sex marriage is wrong. He replied, “I don’t want to get into that. I thought you guys were going to ask me about other stuff. Don’t you care about other stuff?” filed under: misc and gay and politics | comments: none |
this picture is in the back of two gay publications, next and hx, this week. that’s totally against the rules for the photographer to sell the same pics to different mags, but what an ego boost. filed under: misc and gay and new york city | comments: 2 comments |
holy crap, i can’t believe it’s august. that’s a little frightening, actually. i’ve had a really crappy week–really. crappy. week.–so i’m trying to keep myself busy. pardon the dust. inspired by my new myspace redesign, i decided to do up the blog, too. just to keep things interesting. they’re really, really similar now, but it’s ok: one is for networking, one has blogs. i’m also constantly tweaking and will probably change the myspace friend pics to other blog pics. i just…need. to. sleep. now. i downloaded ratatouille. it was super stellar. also super stellar is amy winehouse’s “tears dry on their own,” which i have played out like few songs have been played out. filed under: misc and music and movies | comments: 1 comment |
